What is Shock Cord Braiding?

What is Shock Cord Braiding?

Braiding is the manufacturing technique used to make the protective sleeve in shock cords, which involves wrapping a multi-strand core made of natural latex, synthetic rubber or various polymers with textile threads. It is a crucial step in determining the mechanical properties of elastic cords and in customising them (colour and pattern). Elongation (extra flexibility), stiffness, load resistance and hysteresis are all parameters set during the braiding process.

BRAIDING: A CRUCIAL STEP

L’ANNULAIRE is a continuously braided round shock cord with twice the tensile strength and tear-resistance guarantee, representing a unique know-how in EUROPE. Various types of threads are available: cotton, polyamide, polyester, polyethylene, polypropylene, Kevlar, aramid, fibreglass and Technora.
